Hike Kamiak Butte During Your Pullman/WSU Visit

For beautiful panoramic views of the Palouse region, look no further than Kamiak Butte County Park. This National Natural Landmark is a 14 mile drive from campus and offers over five miles of hiking trails. Pine Ridge Trail is 3.5 miles long (1-2 hours’ worth of hiking), reaches an elevation of 3,641 feet and is home to over 150 bird, mammal, and vegetation species. Picnic tables are available with grills and fire pits, and a self-guided tour of the park is available for download to your smartphone. If you are visiting the area during the winter months, try snowshoeing or cross-country skiing this natural landmark.

Directions to Kamiak Butte County Park:

TakeState Highway 27 North 11 miles.  Turn left on Clear Creek Road for .5 mile.  Turn left on Fugate Road (Road No. 5100). Travel .5  mile to Kamiak Butte County Park Road (Rd. No. 6710), park entrance is on the left.
